Birth Photography

Seattle Birth Photographer

The day your child is born is extraordinary

You can't explain it...

...except that your heart explodes, and you didn't realize just how much more your heart could expand.

You never want to forget this feeling that you didn't even know was coming. It's kind of an out-of-body experience, and you fully want to experience and remember it.

And that's where I come in. I've felt these feelings too, and I want you to fully experience them. That's why I became a birth photographer. I want to document these precious memories for you, so you can be fully present and always remember the moment you met your child for the first time.

if we've never met ...

When I gave birth, I hired a birth photographer, and I'm so glad I did! I'll cherish those photos forever. Seriously. Every time I look back at my birth photos, I gasp with amazement as the memories flood my mind.

It breaks my heart when families don't choose birth photography due to misinformation, cost or general overwhelm doing "all the things" to prep for baby!

So, now I offer birth photography and videography for people who cherish their family and want to capture all the details.

Hi!  I'm Becky

The photos are wonderful! I really love them, and you captured such beautiful moments! We will cherish these memories for many many years and are so grateful for you being there with us.

Schedule your free consultation to meet me & learn more about birth photography for your family and your specific situation. No obligation whatsoever at this free consult. Let’s just chat!

If we’re a good fit, choose your package, pay your deposit, and sign the contract. Now your due date will officially be on my calendar, and we wait for labor!

When you give birth, I promise to be there. I'll photograph your birth story and all the beautiful and sweet moments in between. Next, I'll send you a few sneak peek photos within 48 hours so you can announce your birth to friends and family!

I was reluctant to have a “stranger” join us for such an intimate experience. Since my wife really wanted to have birth photography, I agreed to at least have a consult with Becky. After meeting with Becky I was onboard with hiring her and was looking forward to having these once in a lifetime, priceless memories for our family and future generations to share.

When Becky said how great would it be to have photos of your grandparents and your parents being born, something that no one really has, that’s what sold me on birth photography, being able to share these photos with our son and then when he has a family he’ll be able to show them his birth and the emotional reactions of their grandparents for generations to come. The photos are very tasteful and capture the entire birth journey/story. Couldn’t be happier with our decision to hire Becky and have birth photos.

Here's what you'll get:

My on-call time, 24/7 from 38 weeks until you deliver!

Unlimited time at your birth from active labor through 2 hours after delivery

Password protected online gallery for viewing & selecting Images

Print release (to print images at the lab of your choice)

It's like your wedding film, but birth style.

And don't worry, this is not another boring birth film, with no audio set to a sappy song.

I intentionally record sound when I'm filming. After all, don't you want to hear your baby's first cry again? Maybe you want to remember what you said or what your partner said when your first embraced your child?

I get really excited when I get to include special things in your birth film, like interviewing your beforehand, or a chance to get you talking during a lull in your birth...inevitably, you end up narrating your own story!

Birth films typically end up being 4-6 minutes, depending on your birth. Inquire to see more birth film examples!

FAQ

Do I have to allow you to post my birth images on social media?

Absolutely not! These images are for you! They are memories of a moment in time when you welcomed your little one into the world.

When do you go on-call?

I officially go on-call at 38 weeks, but if you were to go into labor before that, I will do everything I can to be there!

What if you miss a birth, get sick, or have an emergency?

Birth photographers work with a backup. If I was sick or had an emergency, I'd call my backup to attend the birth.

When should I book you?

I recommend booking me as early as you feel comfortable because I do limit the number of births per month I take on. (4 per month)

What if baby comes fast?

Good communication is key! Contacting me at the first signs of labor helps us to determine when I should come to your birth space.

How many images do you deliver?

I deliver 100-150 images, but that may vary depending on the length of your birth and the package you select.

How long will you be at my birth?

I typically arrive during active labor (5-6cm or whenever you can no longer walk/talk through your contractions) and stay 2 hours after baby has arrived!

Why would I want somebody in the room I don't know?

We will get to know each other during your consultation(s). I arrive when you reach active labor and stay 2 hour postpartum. Honestly, between the nurses, doctors, midwives, family members...you won't even know I'm there!

So...I don't know if I want "that" shot.

When most people think of birth photography, they think of the crowning shot. Think about a wedding. When the officiant announces the official married pair, everyone thinks of the kiss. But there's so much more than that!

At our consultation, we will go over the shots that you absolutely want and the ones that you don't. In fact, most of my clients don't want the crowning shot.

During your delivery, most likely I will be at your shoulders getting the first looks of baby as your provider hands them to you! Rest assured...no images will be shared unless I have your permission.
